David M. Nangle is a Lowell native with lived experience and a leading national voice on the dangers of online casino gambling. The youngest of six from a close‑knit Lowell family and a graduate of the city’s public schools, he served 22 years in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, ultimately becoming Assistant Majority Leader.

Behind his public career, David struggled with a decades‑long gambling addiction that spanned 44 years. That addiction led to financial crimes and a federal prison sentence — an experience that now drives his mission to prevent others from suffering the same harms.
